Goodness, I'm sorry I haven't been posting. I am afraid I forgot my password, and I couldn't seem to make it understand that. Very frustrating. However, Happy Birthday Kingsley! I have a bit of cake for you if you like Banoffee. I am still able to make trips if needed to get supplies. Please will you all let me know what you need? Minerva I found someone who makes parchment and vellum as a sort of hobby, and he is willing to sell his stock. He's a Muggle but I think I can convince him there's a large wedding or something. I'm sorry I haven't been writing in this as often as I should. I've been busy staying away from the office working on the murder investigation. Oddly enough, the number of mischief-related cursed items aimed at Muggles is down. You'd think that the number would go up with anti-muggle feeling in the Ministry supposedly on the rise. Well the investigation into Martha's death has stalled. I do think that the Dark Mark might have been a red herring. There's damage to the store and a lot of mess, but I don't see any indication that she was robbed of jewelry or anything personal. Could it be that Martha simply had an enemy who's more than willing to use the mors mordre to cover his tracks? Has anyone seen the Lestrange woman's horrible post? Does anyone know who she's referring to? Because the idea of her getting her hands on one of the students, or even one of the family members of the students gives me chills. Professor I haven't yet found an answer to your question, but rest assured, I shall. Remus, do you need anything? It's a bit dull with all the children gone I imagine. Locked to Tonks and A.Moody
Millicent Sparsely was the witch from the Neighborhood Witch project. And she had quite a story to tell. Either she's been reading *far* too late into the night and the wrong sort of books, or she really did see something. Merlin only knows what it really will turn out to be. This is worrying. More than. She claims that she saw Professor Snape entering the deceased's house before her death. He was looking 'suspicious' too, turned the open sign to closed, as he went in. She claims she saw him leave as well, but she has no idea when it was, or what time it was 'as the radio wasn't on, dear, and I only keep the clock for the tick'. This was the *last* thing we needed to hear. What with the Veritaserum rumors creating a panic in the office, and ninety percent of the people here to see someone at the Ministry here to try to work out some kind of reason why *their* wand should not be registered.. To add his own little bit of brilliance, Roger Cork's decided that What Britain Needs Now are good people to support the 'clearing out' that the current regime is supposedly doing. I don't know if this is some kind of ruse to get me to confide, or just absolute wrongheadedness but it's driving me mad. I'm going to try and see what I can learn about these charges against the Weasley boys. I have to go and meet with someone first, a Miss Millicent Sparsely. Apparently she's part of the Neighborhood Witch program. Which means that she has to see an Auror right away. I'm still not sure why. I'll let you all know if I hear anything about the Weasleys. Everyone's in an uproar over the Prophet. It's enough to make you wonder a bit if maybe whoever printed that did it without asking for permission first. Roger Cork, (who's asked me out twice now) claims that it's someone from the Invisible University out in the Middle East who's doing it all. Anything to make Hogwarts look bad. BASWORTS doesn't count so much because it's new, he says, it's not a symbol of the British Wizardry like Hogwarts is. I'm not entirely sure Roger isn't a bit of a loony. In other news the rumor about the Veritaserum is still going about, but there's another rumor that says only the people who work with the wands will be tested to be sure that they're not doing something dodgy with them. | | Wednesday, May 24th, 2006 | | 3:37 am |

Rumors are flying here, and it's impossible to tell who's actually got hold of some information and who just wants to seem as if they have. I haven't been able to determine who the idiot is that has had the Weasleys charged with murder, but the gossip is that it came from above. Sorry if that's not something new..right now everyone's a bit tense. There's a rumor here that everyone's going to be tested with Veritaserum--something I doubt sincerely. For one thing, the Ministry's large, and who do you get to do the testing? For another, Veritaserum isn't cheap and takes time to make. You'd need to have someone working on making it and nothing else for months. Mad-Eye, I did speak to the complaining gent--discreetly, mind you. His name's Roger Cork, and he seems friendly enough, but whether he's actually willing to be an ally or is a plant in the office I'm not sure yet. He thinks I fancy him-as if I would! I haven't exactly tried to persuade him otherwise just yet as it gives a good excuse for me to talk to him. I'll see what I can find out but I'm being cautious. That's it I suppose, if you need me for anything, just shout. |
